CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SERVICE

Does the word “Contemporary” scare you?  Contemporary does not mean that you will be asked to listen to loud music, hand clapping, standing, and more strange things as some people think (although, if the Holy Spirit enters you through worship you just might feel the need to do some of these acts of worship).  Contemporary is a more relaxed form of entering into Worshiping and Praising our Lord God.   Actively entering into worship is what God requires of all of us! Many of you have asked “when will we have a “true contemporary” service.  It is here, and it will be the fourth (4th) Sunday of each month, just as it has been dedicated in the past couple of years.   Only, now the format will be relaxed and contemporary with various forms of music used to Praise and Worship God.  After all, that is what Church is all about:  Praising God and worshiping Him.

 Psalm 150:

  1 Praise the LORD.
 Praise God in his sanctuary;
  praise him in his mighty heavens.

2 Praise him for his acts of power;
       praise him for his surpassing greatness.

3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
       praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
       praise him with the strings and flute,

5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
       praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
       Praise the LORD.

I couldn’t say it any better, nor would I try!

So, on the fourth Sunday of every month at 10:00 during the summer. Scottsville will have a “True Contemporary Worship Service.”    Come and join in the Praise and Worship of our Lord and God.   If you liked the Saturday evening Praise and Worship service by Scottsville’s Praise Band, then you will like the Contemporary format!  Come and be filled with the Holy Spirit! Our Methodist mantra is, “Open Minds, Open Hearts, and Open Doors.”  Let us do so on every fourth Sunday.

Georgeanne Toner, Pastor Keen, and Tom Bradeis
