Youth Education Programs

Scottsville UMC now offers a Senior High School Sunday School/Bible Study small group.

This group will be open to all 9th through 12th graders.

The group will meet during the Sunday School hour in the Youth Room.

The goal for the group will be “to grow our faith.”  We plan on using many different media to reach this goal.  It will not be a traditional learning environment.  We are planning this to be interactive on everyone’s part.  More discussion, less lecture.

The leaders will be John Wineburg and Patrice Matthews.

Please come on out and see if this class is for you.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School Classes run from 9:30am-10:30am.  We have a class for everyone.  Beginning with Pre-school up to our new “High School Class” for young teens in 9th through 12th grades.  We currently have two adult classes. Contact Georgeanne Toner or Bill Kent for specifics.

Take care,

Maureen Birkett and Laura Russo – Sunday School Superintendents

Special Needs Sunday School/Youth Group

Did you know Scottsville has a Sunday School Class on Sunday evenings?  The class is on Sundays and is a class for people who have physical, mental or learning disabilities.  We welcome young people age 6 and up, and currently have three students.

The youth are taught about the Bible and become active in mission work through Aid For Friends, Operation Christmas Child, food drives, and preparation of stockings for the Salvation Army.  We also offer youth activities, and sometimes have the opportunity to join with our other youth groups for special events.  If you ever wondered what we do….just stop in one Sunday evening between  6:00 and 7:30pm.  If anyone is interested in helping out, I’m currently in need of an assistant.

Thank you.

Maureen Birkett
